16 entities get productivity award

DHAKA, Dec 11, 2018 (BSS) – Sixteen organisations, covering all major categories of industrial units, today received the “National Productivity and Quality Excellence Award-2017” for their significant contribution to the industrial sector through maintaining productivity and quality of products.

Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu handed over the awards to the representatives of the recipient organisations at a function at the Bangladesh Institute of Administration and Management (BIAM) Foundation Auditorium in the city, said a press release.

Secretary-in-Charge of the Industries Ministry M Abdul Halim presided over the function while National Productivity Organisation (NPO) Director SM Asrafuzzaman, among others, was present at the function.

Speaking as the chief guest, Amu said the government is working relentlessly to turn Bangladesh into middle-income country by 2021 and developed country by 2041.

“We have already achieved remarkable success in the industrialization as the contribution of industrial sector has increased to 33.71 percent,” he added.

The awards were under six categories – large industry, medium industry, small industry, micro industry, cottage industry and state-owned enterprises.

The awardees are Square Pharmaceuticals Limited, Envoy Textiles Limited, BSRM Steels Limited, Auco Tex Limited, BRB Polymer Limited, Nesania Limited, Premium Sweets, Mutatude Asia Limited, Alim Industries Limited, Khan Bakelite Products, Trim Tex Bangladesh, Adara Parlier and Spa Training Center, Pritee Beauty Parlier, (Renwick Jajneswar and Co Limited, Karim Jute Mills and National Tubes.
