Emergency 999 Service at RMP

RAJSHAHI, Dec 11, 2018 (BSS)-Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) has
launched the Emergency 999 Service for ensuring a quick response to any
emergency phone call from members of the public in general.

RMP Commissioner AKM Hafiz Akter formally launched the service at his
office. Deputy Commissioner Tanveer Haider Chowdhury, Senior Assistant
Commissioner Ifte Khayer Alam and Assistant Commissioner Habibur Rahman were
present on the occasion.

Twenty-four RMP officers from 12 police stations have received training on
the national service in Dhaka for making the newly launched procedure
effective and meaningful.

At the opening ceremony, RMP Chief Hafiz Akter handed over 12 computers to
the police stations for conducting the service properly.

Speaking on the occasion, Hafiz Akter said earlier the RMP

introduced various service-oriented programmes like Crises Response Team,
Quick Response Team and E-traffic prosecution process. In line with this, the
Emergency 999 Service has been launched.

He mentioned that the RMP has already been transformed into a people-
friendly and modern police unit as a result of launching the services.
