Five women get Joyeeta Award in Manikganj

Manikganj, Dec 09 (BSS) – Five women who achieved glorious success in
various fields were selected as Joyeeta in Manikganj district on the occasion
of Rokeya Day.

The women were accorded reception at a function held in Zila Parishad
auditorium today.

Pankoj Ghose, additional deputy commissioner (revenue), was present at the
event as the chief guest. The function was presided over by Jamila Khatun,
district women affairs officer.

Ferdousy Akter, wife of Abul Kalam of village Trilochonpatti under
Shibalaya upazila was awarded for achieving self reliance in economic sector,
Nasrin Sultana, daughter of AKM Nurul Islam of village Azimpur under Singair
Pourasava of Singair upazila who was awarded for success in education sector,
Rekha Rani Ghose, wife of Sontosh Kumar Ghose of Ghior upazila was awarded as
successful mother, Ambia Khatun, wife of late Julmot Bepari of village
Pashchim Dashora under Manikganj Pourasava, was awarded for starting new life
defeating the past panic of life and Mosammat Sahera Begum, wife of late
Wazed Ali of village Kakjor under Ghior upazila was awarded for social
service.

Luxmi Chattarjee, chairman of Jatiya Mahila Sangstha, Manikganj, Prof
Urmila Roy, Kazi Shiuli Akter and Advocate Kona Akter, among others, spoke on
the occasion.

Each of the Joyeeta was awarded with crest and certificate. Earlier, a
colourful rally was brought out in the town led by SM Ferdous, deputy
commissioner, Manikganj.
