BNP conspiring to foil general election: Menon
DHAKA, Dec 07, 2018 (BSS) – Social Welfare Minister Rashed Khan Menon today said BNP is conspiring to foil the upcoming general election as the party is sensing its sure defeat in the polls.
“BNP is blaming the Election Commission (EC) for baseless information and illogical reasons…. They (BNP) are resorting to falsehood over the upcoming parliamentary election,” he told a meeting on “The 11th National Parliamentary Election” in the auditorium of District Sporting Association (DSA) here, an official release said.
President of Awami Shechhasebok League Advocate Mollah Md Abu Kausar, leaders and activists of local unit of Bangladesh Awami League (AL), among others, addressed the meeting with President of Dhaka City Unit South of Awami Shechhasebok League Debashish Biswas in the chair.
Menon, also President of Workers Party of Bangladesh(WPB), said BNP would come to power riding on Gono Forum President Dr Kamal Hossain as the party thought that the people of the country would forget all misdeeds including corruption, arson attack and misuse of power.
But BNP is now sensing that people would not favour the party in the upcoming national election, Menon added.
