5 youth organisations get LG’s grant

DHAKA, Dec 6, 2018 (BSS) – LG Electronics Bangladesh has provided grants
to five youth organisations to implement their social initiatives in the
country.

They were also awarded as “LG Ambassador 2018” for their willingness and
hard work to realise their dreams of social welfare, a press release said.

The organisations are – Initiative for Coastal Development (ICD) in
Koyra, Khulna; Amra Benapoler Basinda in Sharsha of Jessore; Batch 97 in
Nabinagar of Brahmanbaria; TDC Shiksha Shohayota in Dhaka, and Asaduddin
Smrity Biggyan Club in Parbatipur of Dinajpur.

The organisations received Taka four lakh each to implement their
initiatives.

Initiative for Coastal Development will work for employment and skill
development for the tiger widows of the Sundarbans.

Batch 97 will provide rickshaws and vans to the ultra poor of Nabinagar,
Brahmanbaria, for their income generation. Amra Benapoler Basinda will raise
awareness among the students of Benapol against drugs.

Besides, TDC Shiksha Shohayota will provide initial admission fees to
the poor but meritorious students who got chances of higher education in
universities.

Asaduddin Smrity Biggyan Club will work on social tree plantation and
will raise awareness against environment pollution and pesticide use in
Dinajpur.

Managing Director of LG Electronics Bangladesh DK Son said: “We observed
that many youth initiatives can’t be implemented for lack of financial
support that’s why LG came forward to support some of them to realise their
dreams”.
