Outgoing Italian envoy calls on Speaker
DHAKA, Dec 5, 2018 (BSS) – Outgoing Italian Ambassador in Dhaka Mario Palma today called on Speaker of the Parliament Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury at her office at Jaitya Sangsad Bhaban.
During the meeting, they dwelt on socio-economic, investment, political and financial aspects of Bangladesh, said a press release.
“Under the dynamic and farsighted leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the country has witnessed a considerable progress in the past 10 years” said the Speaker.
Bangladesh would be turned into a developing nation by 2024 and a developed country by 2041, she added.
The Speaker said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working tirelessly to build a poverty-free, happy and prosperous country.
Ambassador Palma thanked the Speaker for the government’s continued support during his stay in Bangladesh.
