Ershad won’t go Singapore before Dec 10: Ranga

DHAKA, Dec 4, 2018 (BSS) – Jatiya Party Secretary General and State Minister for LGRD and Cooperatives Mashiur Rahman Ranga today said it will not be possible for the party chairman HM Ershad to go to Singapore for regular medical checkup before December 10 for the sake of the party.

“Former President and Jatiya Party Chairman remains 100 percent fit. It is necessary for him to go to Singapore for regular medical checkup but he won’t go before December 10 for the sake of the party,” Ranga told newsmen after a meeting with Sammilita Jatiya Jote at the party chairman’s Banani office here.

He said Ershad talked with Jatiya Party Co-Chairman GM Kader and family members including his son Shad Ershad in the morning today.

Replying to a question of reporters, Ranga said if anyone of the party is found involved in money-making capitalizing on nomination process, organisational steps will be taken against him or her through discussions in the party presidium.

Secretary General of the party said ABM Ruhul Amin Hawlader, former Jatiya Party secretary general, himself has resigned to party chairman and he still remains as the presidium member of the party.

Sammilita Jatiya Jote leaders, Jatiya Party presidium members Sunil Shuvo Roy and SM Foysal Chisti, Bangladesh Islami Oikya Front Secretary General MA Matin and Jatiya Islami Moha-Jote Chairman Abu Naser Wahed Faruk were present on the occasion.

Ranga said electable candidates of the grand alliance who have acceptance to the people at grassroots will be given final nominations.

He said list of grand alliance candidates will be finalized through discussions. If any leader of Jatiya Party takes part in the election violating party decision, organisational steps will be taken against him or her, he further added.
