EC to ensure safe atmosphere for female voters: Kabita Khanam
RAJSHAHI, Dec 4, 2018 (BSS)- Election Commissioner Kabita Khanam here today
asserted that the Election Commission (EC) is committed to create safe and
congenial atmosphere for the female voters in the upcoming 11th Parliamentary
Election.
“The EC will adopt all possible measures to ensure hundred percent
turnouts of the female voters in the election,” she further said while
inaugurating a two-day workshop in Rajshahi as chief guest.
United Nation Development Programme (UNDP) is hosting the workshop titled
“Gender and Election” at Nanking Darbar Hall in Rajshahi city.
Kabita Khanam said female voters are almost half of the country’s total
voters. The EC is committed to ensure safe atmosphere for the female voters
during the polling time so that they can exercise their right to franchise
comfortably.
Replying to a question EC Kabita Khanam told the journalists that the
returning officers were given instruction of giving certified copies to the
rejected candidates quickly.
