ABT man arrested at Jatrabari
DHAKA, Dec 2, 2018 (BSS) – Police arrested an operative of the banned
militant outfit Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) from the city’s Jatrabari area
on Saturday evening. “We arrested an active member of ABT Md Sarwar Hossain
Rajib, 25, from beside mosque adjacent to gate no-1 at Bibir Bagicha around 6
pm on Saturday,” said a police official.
Counter Terrorism Department personnel of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP)
also recovered a mobile phone set and memory card from his possession, he
also said.
During preliminary interrogation, the arrested confessed his link to ABT
saying that he used to work in recruiting new members for the organisation
with consulting its one of the top leaders Maulana Osman Goni, he added.
A case was lodged under Anti-Terrorism Act with Jatrabari Police Station to
this end.
