KCC Mayor urges journalists to highlight country’s dev

KHULNA, Nov, 29, 2018 (BSS) – Mayor of Khulna City Corporation (KCC)
Talukder Abdul Khaleque here today urged journalists to focus country’s
development in different sectors implemented by the present government under
the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

He was speaking as the chief guest while according reception by the Khulna
Union of Journalists (KUJ) at the Humayun Kabir Auditorium at Khulna Press
Club.

Mayor said greater Khulna was neglected after Bangabandhu’s assassination
at the black night on August 15, 1975. Any government except Awami League did
not implement any development project in the country’s south-western zone.

Contribution of Sheikh Hasina in country’s development to be written in
golden letters, the mayor said, narrating south-western zone’s development
including Padma Bridge, Mongla Port, EPZ, Rupsha Bridge, Modern Railway
Station, Specialised Shaheed Sheikh Abu Naser Hospital, International Cricket
Stadium and numerous roads, bridges, culverts, school, colleges and
production of electricity.

He also urged journalists to raise their voice in favour of Liberation
War’s Forces side by side against militants, anti-Liberation War Forces and
their collaborators.

KUJ President S M zahid Hossain chaired the function while it’s general
secretary Md Shah Alam conducted the meeting.

Senior Journalists Mokbul Hossain Mintu, Wadudur Rahman Panna, A K Hiru,
Sheikh Abu Hasan, Khulna Press Club President Faruk Ahmed, general secretary
Mallick Sudhangsu, ex-KUJ general secretary Md Saheb Ali, Mozzammel Haque,
Subir Roy, BFUJ members Sayeduzzaman Samrat, Farid Rana, President of TV
Reporters Association Sunil Das, among others, spoke on the occasion.

Earlier, KUJ leaders handed over crests, flowers Bouquets and gifts to KCC
mayor.
