Stocks witness upward trend on higher transactions

DHAKA, Nov 26, 2018 (BSS) – Stocks witnessed upward trends on Monday as
major indices of both Dhaka and Chittagong stock exchanges were found
finishing upward trend on higher transactions.

The day’s trade value at the DSE increased to Taka 615.75 crore from
Sunday’s Taka 569.46 crore and the daily trade also rose to 13.53 crore share
from 12.48 crore share of the previous session.

The broader DSEX of the DSE closed the day with 3.01 points up at 5,279.26.
The blue-chip DS30 and the Shariah DSES also followed the same trend with
2.28 points up at 1,857.72 and with 3.17 points up at 1,224.22 respectively.

At the DSE, prices of 128 securities out of the day’s 332 closed higher
against 140 losing issues.

The major gaining issues were DSHGARME, WMSHIPYARD, MLDYEING, FEKDIL and RD
Food. The major losing issues were Aman Feed, Bangas, Family Tex, Shasha
Denims and Apollo Isphat.

Saiham Tex topped the turnover list followed by Shepherd, UPGDCL, BRAC Bank
and Intech.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with upward
trend with its major CASPI 7.32 points up at 16,178.54.

At the CSE, 241 issues traded while 100 closed higher against 111 closed
lower when 90.73 lakh shares worth Taka 30.50 crore changed hands.
