CHATTOGRAM, Nov 26, 2018 (BSS) – Awami League Publicity and Publication Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud today said BNP leaders are violating electoral code of conduct by spreading propaganda and falsehood against the high officials of the government.
“BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed is talking about a fabricated secret meeting of senior government officials. He (Rizvi) has resorted to falsehood to mislead the people,” he said while talking to journalists at his own residence at Dewanjee Pukur Par in the city.
Mahmud said Rizvi spread falsehood against Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) secretary, prime minister’s APS, public administration secretary and even the election commission secretary.
The AL publicity secretary said the concerned government officials also strongly protested against Rizvi’s comment and a legal notice also was served on him.
“Actually, the task of Rizvi Ahmed is to hold a press conference every day to spread falsehood and propaganda,” he said.
Mahmud urged the Election Commission to take action against Rizvi and BNP for violating electoral code of conduct by spreading falsehood against the top government officials.
He said actually BNP wants to mislead the people by spreading falsehood to catch fish in the troubled water.
The AL leader said different media reported that BNP’s fugitive acting chairman Tarique Rahman, who is a convict, will finalize the BNP candidates and even he will finalize the final list of candidates of the Oikyafront.
It means, Tarqie Rahman is the leader of all leaders of Oikyafront including Dr Kamal Hossain, Mahmudur Rahman Manna and ASM Abdur Rab, he added.
About the nomination of AL, Mahmud said party nominations have been given on the basis of different surveys.
“We have many nomination seekers. On an average 13 aspirants sought against each parliamentary seat. Here prime consideration of giving nomination was ability of being elected,” he added.
He expressed the hope that the AL leaders and workers will work unitedly for those who were given nominations and election symbol “Boat” as like as they did in the past.
