RpMP arrests 3 inter-district dacoits with stolen goods
RANGPUR, Nov 25, 2018 (BSS) – A special investigation team of Rangpur
Metropolitan Police (RpMP) arrested three members of an organised gang of
inter-district dacoits and seized the stolen goods last night from different
regions across the country.
“Using modern technologies and video footages captured by CC cameras, the
team conducted raids at different places of Dhaka, Khulna, Sirajganj and
Bogra districts and arrested the dacoits. They also seized a truck and
recovered stolen goods from their possession,” RpMP Commissioner Abdul Alim
Mahmud said in a press conference held at his conference room today.
In connection with a case filed by one Shahin Akhter accusing 7 to 8
unidentified persons with Tazhat Thana of RpMP, police conducted the raids in
the aforesaid areas.
Earlier, on November 17, some unidentified dacoits boarded a truck to
commit a daring theft. They looted 25 to 30 batteries of auto rickshaws from
two shops of Shahin Akhter and Moniruzzaman Mithu at Modern Mour Bridge area
in Tazhat Thana of RpMP at 4:30 am.
The dacoits left the area with looted goods in their truck towards Bogra
on the Rangpur-Dhaka highway.
RpMP Commissioner Abdul Alim said through hectic efforts, the
investigation team seized the truck used for committing the daring theft,
recovered 28 pieces of stolen batteries for auto-rickshaw and arrested the
three dacoits
Investigation into the case is progressing fast and efforts were on to nab
the other culprits involved with the inter-district dacoits’ gang, Alim said.
