RAJSHAHI, Nov 25, 2018 (BSS) – Technical and vocational students were
urged to become enriched with power of skill and innovation for making
themselves competent workforce to meet the demands of the modern era.
Speakers came up with the observation while addressing a seminar on
importance of skill competition at conference hall of Rajshahi Polytechnic
Institute (RPI) in the city yesterday. RPI organized the seminar as part of
its daylong regional skills competition.
They observed that skills competition can flourish latent talents and
innovative capacity of the technical students.
Marking the event, RPI also arranged a colourful rally joined by Mayor
of Rajshahi City Corporation AHM Khairuzzaman Liton as chief guest.
Mayor Liton said that the present government has created scopes of
arranging skills competition for the students across the country every year
so that they can boost their capacity.
He called upon the youths to come forward to participate in technical
and vocational education for taking the country forward. He opined that
technical, vocational education and training among the young generation is
very important for achieving the national development.
Liton viewed technical education could be effective means of building
competent and skilled human resources. “We need more technically and
technologically sound workforce to meet the social demands,” he added.
He also underscored the need for quality improvement of technical
education for substantial and sustainable boosting the number of
entrepreneurship.
Commissioner of Rajshahi Division Nur-Ur-Rahman addressed the seminar as
chief guest while Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Alamgir Kabir
spoke as special guest with RPI Principal Engineer Farid Uddin Mahmud in the
chair.
