Hasan urges BNP not to flee from polls
DHAKA, Nov 24, 2018 (BSS) – Publicity and Publication Secretary of the Awami League
(AL) Dr Hasan Mahmud today urged the BNP not to go away from the elections and asserted
that the AL would prove that the people are with Sheikh Hasina.
“I would request the BNP not to run away from the election field … we will prove
through the elections that the countrymen are with Sheikh Hasina and the pro-liberation
forces,” he said.
The AL leader was addressing a discussion marking the 14th death anniversary of
journalist Tridiv Dastidar organized by Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote (BSJ) at the
Jatiya Press Club here.
Replying to the statement of BNP leader Moudud Ahmed that Awami League wants to flee
from the elections, Dr Hasan said actually the BNP leaders have realized that the
election field is not in favor of them.
“Now the question is if BNP wants to flee from the elections as the field is not in
its favor,” he said.
Chaired by cultural personality Syed Hasan Imam, the meeting was also addressed,
among others, by Dhaka City South AL General Secretary Shah-e Alam Murad, Joint
Secretary General Kamal Chowdhury and BSJ General Secretary Arun Sarker Rana.
