Birshreshtho Noor Mohammad’s wife laid to rest

NARAIL, Nov 22, 2018 (BSS) – Begum Fazilatunnesa, wife of Birshreshtho Shaheed Lance Nayek Noor Mohammad, was laid to eternal rest at Dhuriya village in Narail Sadar upazila after Maghrib prayers today.

Begum Fazilatunnesa died of old-age complications at the Combined Medical Hospital (CMH) here on Wednesday at the age of 71.

The first Namaz-e-Janaza was held at 8.30 am at Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) Headquarters in Pilkhana area of the capital.

Director General of Border Guard Bangladesh Major General Md Shafeenul Islam and officials and members of the BGB, among others, attended the janaza.

After the Janaza, the body of the deceased was sent to Narail. The second janaza was held at Kurirdobe ground in Sadar upazila.

Earlier, people from all walks of life paid tributes to Fazilatunnesa. Narail Deputy Commissioner Anjuman Ara, Addition Deputy Commissioner (ADC) (General) Md Yearul Islam, ADC (Revenue) Kazi Mahabubur Rashid, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza’s father Golam Mortaza Swapan and Birshreshtho Noor Mohammad Trust Member Secretary Md Azizur Rahman Bhuiyan also paid tributes to her.

Later, the body was taken to Birshreshtho Noor Mohammad Complex in Noor Mohammad area. The third janaza was held there.

After the janaza, the body was taken to her own Duria village. She was buried there after fourth Namaz-e-Janaza.

In separate condolence messages, President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed profound shock at the death of Begum Fazilatunnesa.

They also prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family.

Earlier, Sheikh Hasina visited the CMH to see ailing Fazilatunnesa on Wednesday before her demise.

Born in a respectable Muslim family, Fazilatunnesa got married to Noor Mohammad in 1964.

Lance Nayek Noor Mohammad was killed in an engagement with the Pakistan Army during the Liberation War in 1971.
