Miladunnabi rally seeks establishment of social, political peace
DHAKA, Nov 22, 2018 (BSS) – Tens of thousands of devotees joined a
traditional Eid-e-Miladunnabi rally yesterday seeking revival of Islamic
spirit of harmony and burying of the path of violence in the name of religion
as well as politics.
Political leaders, Islamic scholars and admirers of Islamic sufi
philosophy joined the rally at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital.
“A real pious person can never prefer violence,” Industries Minister Amir
Hossain Amu told the rally chaired by incumbent chief of Maizbhandar Darbar
Syed Saifuddin Ahmed.
Recalling that Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman first created scopes for
spreading Islam in post-independent Bangladesh, Amu said but some opportunist
people always try to use religion to serve their own purpose.
Syed Saifuddin Ahmed said Prophet Mohamad (PBUH) had emerged as the
rescuer of the humanity adding that Mohamad taught all that people’s mind
could be won only through love and forgiveness, not by muscle, aggressiveness
as well as weapon.
