Navy chief accords reception to gallantry award holder FFs
DHAKA, Nov 22, 2018 (BSS) – Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Nizamuddin Ahmed today accorded a reception to the gallantry award holder freedom fighters (FFs) of Bangladesh Navy at its headquarters’ Sagorika Hall in the city Banani area on the occasion of the Armed Forces Day-2018.
Family members of Birshreshtho Shaheed Ruhul Amin, five Bir Uttams, seven Bir Bikrams and eight Bir Pratiks and their family members and senior officials of the navy joined the function, said an ISPR press release here.
Ruhul Amin’s daughter Nurjahan Begum and other freedom fighters received mementos in the function, the release added.
In his speech, the navy chief recalled with gratitude Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the sacrifices and contributions of the martyrs in the country’s Liberation War.
He said under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the present government has taken various initiatives to build the navy as an effective and professional force.
