DHAKA, Nov 22, 2018 (BSS) – Chief of Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed today accorded a reception to the gallantry award holder freedom fighters (FFs) of Bangladesh Army at a ceremony at the Army Multipurpose Complex in Dhaka Cantonment on the occasion of the Armed Forces Day-2018.
Nearest relatives of three Birshreshthos, three Bir Uttams, 14 Bir Bikrams and 27 Bir Pratiks of army were accorded reception through the function, said an ISPR press release here.
The army chief also awarded 28 army personnel for their praiseworthy and courageous works in different times in 2017-18 in the function, the release added. Of the awardees, nine received ‘Osamanyo Seba Padak’ (outstanding service award) and 19 received ‘Bishishta Seba Padak’ (distinghushed service award).
In the function, General Aziz Ahmed exchanged greetings with the freedom fighters and their successors and presented gifts, the release added.
Former army chiefs and senior army officials were also present on the occasion.
