14 shops gutted by fire in Noakhali
NOAKHALI, 28 Dec, 2017 (BSS) – Fourteen shops, a mosque and a sporting club were gutted by a fire that broke out in Maijdee of the district last night.
Humayun Kabir, Deputy Assistant Director of Noakhali Fire Service and Civil Defense Station, said around 12:30 am the fire originated from an electric short circuit into a mattress shop.
On information, 3 units of Maijdee, Chowmuhani and Companigonj Fire Station rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control fighting 2 hours.
The loss was not measured immediately but the gutted shop-owners claimed that their loss would worth Tk. 3 crore.
Shahid Ullah Khan Sohel, Mayor of Noakhali Municipality visited the spot.
