Promoting women entrepreneurship stressed for sustainable development

RANGPUR, Nov 21, 2018 (BSS) – Experts at the closing function of a two-day
training course held here on Tuesday afternoon stressed promoting women
entrepreneurship to speed up uplift activities for attaining sustainable
development in the country.

The Centre for Peace and Justice of BRAC University organised the two-day
‘Women Entrepreneurship Training’ programme on ‘Business Planning Boot Camp’
at BRAC Learning Centre in the city.

The Dr Wazed Research and Training Institute (DWRTI) of Begum Rokeya
University Rangpur (BRUR) extended cooperation in arranging the event with
assistance of the UN WOMEN.

The selected female students of DWRTI and all 21 departments of BRUR
participated in the event to enhance their skills for being successful
entrepreneurs on the way to build a peaceful and prosperous Bangladesh.

Vice-chancellor of BRUR Professor Dr Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah addressed the
function as the chief guest.

Executive Director of the Centre for Peace and Justice of BRAC University
Manzoor Hasan OBE attended the function as the special guest.

Research Coordinator of the Centre for Peace and Justice of BRAC
University Muhammad Badiuzzaman, its Entrepreneurship Specialist S Huda,
Programme Coordinator Nilufa Sultana, Assistant Trainer Mohsena Ashraf and
Research Associate Zia Uddin conducted the training course as resource
persons.

The chief guest said that the training course would effectively enhance
skills of the participant female students of the university in exploring
their talents and capabilities for preparing proper business plans to become
successful entrepreneurs.

He called upon the participants to properly utilise the knowledge, skills
and expertise they acquired from the training course in running their
enterprises successfully to attain economically self-reliance for their
empowerment in future.
