SHAFI-SCHOLARSHIP-DU (With Picture)
5 DU fisheries students get scholarship
DHAKA, Nov 20, 2018 (BSS) – Two students of Department of Fisheries of
Dhaka University (DU) today were awarded “Prof. Mohammed Shafi Trust Fund
scholarship” for their outstanding results in BS Honors and MS examinations
respectively.
The recipients are: Md. Inja-Mamun Haque (MS) and Md. Al Zahid (BS).
Meanwhile, three other brilliant students of the department: Shawon Ahmed,
Mst. Nilufa Yasmin and Md. Shafiuzzaman have received ‘Amena Latif Trust Fund
Scholarship’ for their outstanding results.
DU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman handed over
scholarships and certificates among the students as the chief guest at the
VC’s lounge of the university.
Chairperson of the Department of Fisheries Prof. Dr. Kaniz Fatema presided
over the function while donor of the trust fund Prof. Dr. Mohammed Shafi
addressed it as special guest. Some other teachers of the department were
present on this occasion.
Professor Akhtaruzzaman in his speech called upon the students to become
the perfect human being by equipping themselves with moral values.
He also thanked Prof Mohammed Shafi, the donor of this trust fund, for his
outstanding contribution to develop fisheries education and research in the
country.
