Smuggled goods seized from Lalmonirhat borders

LALMONIRHAT, Nov 18, 2018 (BSS) – Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized
huge smuggled goods from the frontiers under Lalmonirhat 15 BGB Battalion
till this morning.

“The patrolling BGB members of Gorak Mandal, Bagbhandar, Moghalhat,
Durgapur, Gangarhat and Kashipur border outposts seized the smuggled goods
from different bordering areas from November 5 to 18,” a press release said
today.

The seized goods included 430 bottles of smuggled Indian phensidyl, 107
bottles of foreign wine, 23 kilogram of ganja, 179 bottles of Escaf syrup, 26
cows, four bicycles, 443 kilogram salt and imitational ornaments worth Taka
15.70 lakh.

“The seized smuggled goods were deposited with the customs authorities,
police stations and Department of Narcotics Control for taking further legal
steps,” the release added.

Commanding Officer of Lalmonirhat 15 BGB Battalion Lt Colonel Anwarul
Alam today told BSS that anti-smuggling and anti-drug drives would be
continued.
