25 held in Dinajpur
DINAJPUR, Nov 16, 2018 (BSS)- Law enforcers, in special drives arrested 25
persons including seven drug traders and an activist of BNP from different
areas of the district in last 12-hour ending at 8am this morning.
Law enforcers also seized 109 bottles of Phensidyl, 100 pieces of Yaba
tablets, 1,500 pieces of cow fattening tablets and 350 liters o locally-made
liquor during the drives.
Police said they were picked up from different areas of the district on
different charges.
During the drives, Dinajpur Sadar police arrested eight persons including
three drug traders along with 350 liters of locally-made liquor and an
activist of BNP, Biral Thana police arrested two persons, Phulbari Thana
police arrested one person, Bochaganj Thana police arrested three persons,
Khansama Thana police arrested one person, Kaharole Thana police arrested two
persons, Ghoraghat Thana police arrested two persons and Chirirbandar Thana
police arrested two persons.
Several cases, including charges of subversive activities, are pending with
different police stations against the arrested persons, the sources added.
Meanwhile, members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive detained
four drug traders along with 109 bottles of Phensidyl, 100 pieces of Yaba
tablets and 1,500 pieces of cow fattening tablets around 7am from Hili
Railway Station in Hakimpur upazila of the district.
Later, the detained persons were handed over to the Hakimpur Thana police,
BGB said.
The arrested persons were sent to jail.
