Juktofront demands extending symbol allocation deadline by 10 days

DHAKA, Nov 15, 2018 (BSS) – The Juktofront today demanded extension of the deadline of allocating symbols for 10 days for the 11th parliamentary elections slated for December 30.

Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh Organizing Secretary Barrister Omar Faruque handed over a letter, signed by Juktafront Chairman and Bikalpadhara President Professor AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury, to the Election Commission in this regard.

Bikalpa Dhara presidium member Abdur Rouf Mannan and Bangladesh NAP secretary general M Golam Mostafa Bhuiyan accompanied him.

The Juktafront requested the EC to extend the time period by 10 days, making November 26 the new deadline for symbol allocation for the sake of a free and fair elections.

As per the polls schedule, the last day of submitting nomination is November 28, scrutiny on December 2, withdrawal of candidature December 9 and the voting is slated for December 30.
