Nobanno Utsob celebrated in Khulna
KHULNA, Nov 15, 2018(BSS) – Nobanno Utsab, a traditional annual event of
Bangla year marking the harvest of new crop, began today at Shaheed Hadis
Park in the city with the traditional music and dance of Bangalee culture.
Dhamaiya songs, Lalongiti, Palligiti and Rabindra Sangeet also
performed by renowned singers.
Like previous years, Khulna district administration organised the event in
the Shaheed Hadis Park on the first day of Agrahayan, the eight month of
Bangla calender.
Earlier, a colourful procession was brought out from deputy commissioner’s
office premises that ended at the Shaheed Hadis Park in the city.
Different cultural organisations celebrated the festival while Department
of Agriculture exibited rural agriculture tools.
Zila Shishu Academy also arranged art competition styled ‘Nobanno and
Grameen Bangla” and distributed prize among winners.
