Nine get ‘Ratnagarbha Ma’ award in Madaripur
MADARIPUR, Nov 14, 2018 (BSS) – A glaring instance has been set to the inspiration of the women-folk as the Madaripur municipality for the first time graced nine successful mothers of the district with the ‘Ratnagarbha Ma’ Award.
The mothers, who successfully brought up their children who have made their marks in their own fields, got the recognition of their life-long endeavours showing the path to follow.
The Madaripur municipality handed over the awards to the nine successful mothers, each from every ward of the municipality, at Shilpakala Academy here today.
Former advisor to the caretaker government and human rights activist Sultana Kamal addressed the award-giving ceremony as the chief guest with Madaripur Municipality Mayor Khalid Hossain Yead in the chair.
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University (BSMRSTU) Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Khondoker Nasir Uddin, United Hospital Dhaka (UHD) Chief Cardiac Surgeon and Director Dr Jahangir Kabir, the country’s first Everest winning woman Nishat Mazumder, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the district Md Wahidul Islam and Additional Police Super Uttam Prasad addressed the function as special guests.
The recipients are Begum Hafizunnessa, wife of former parliament member and organizer of the liberation war late Dr Abul Kashem, from 1 no. ward, Nurjahan Begum from 2 no. ward, Usha Rani Das from 3 no. ward, Fatema Khatun from 4 no. ward, Mamtaz Begum from 5 no. ward, Selina Begum from 6 no. ward, Nurjahan Begum from 7 no. ward, Alimun Nessa from 8 no. ward and Rahima Khatun from 9 no. ward.
