Navy chief off to India to attend `Indian Ocean Naval Symposium’
DHAKA, Nov 13, 2018 (BSS) – The chief of Navy Staff Admiral Nizamuddin
Ahmed left here for India yesterday (Monday) to attend a seminar marking the
10th anniversary of ‘Indian Ocean Naval Symposium’ (IONS).
Members of the IONS are participating in the two-day event that kicked
off on November 13 at Kochi in India, an ISPR press release said.
The seminar will further strengthen mutual support and maritime
cooperation among the countries of the Indian Ocean region.
Besides, this seminar will play an important role for the member states
in achieving economic prosperity utilizing the Blue-Economy concept.
During his visit to India, Naval Chief will make a courtesy call on the
Indian Navy Chief and exchange views with the naval high officials of the
other member states of the IONS.
The Navy Chief is expected to return home on November 15.
