Implementing SDG-linked programme stressed

NETRAKONA, Nov 13, 2018 (BSS) – Speakers at a day-long workshop here today
underlined the need for enhancing participation of community based
organizations for achieving the target of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG)
to build a ‘hunger and poverty free Sonar Bangla’.

Bangladesh Nari Progati Sangha (BNPS) Netrakona district unit in
cooperation with Center for Policy Dialogue (CPD) and Oxfam in Bangladesh
organized the workshop on “Reviewing of SDG linked policies and programs with
local level implementation authorities” at the conference room of Netrakona
circuit house here today.

Chaired by deputy director of local government department Zia Ahmed Sumon,
the inaugural function of the workshop was addressed, among others, by
additional deputy commissioner (general) Netrakona Khaled Hussain, additional
deputy commissioner (revenue) Netrakona Ariful Islam, general secretary of
Netrakona press club Shamolendu Paul, district correspondent of national news
agency BSS M. Faqrul Haque, manager of BNPS Netrakona district unit Ali Amzat
Khan, senior assistant fellow of CPD Mustafa Amir Sabbih and senior program
officer of Oxfam in Bangladesh Mustafa Ali.

A total of 30 persons including officers of government and non-government
organizations and journalists participated in the workshop.
