DHAKA, Nov 13, 2018 (BSS) – Bikalpa Dhara Senior Joint Secretary Mahi B Chowdhury today said his party may join the ruling Awami League-led grand alliance to take part in the 11th parliamentary elections.
“It’s confirmed that we will contest in the upcoming general elections… Just want to say that it is possible to join in the polls under the banner of the grand alliance,” he told the reporters after emerging from a meeting with Awami League senior leaders at the AL president’s political office in city’s Dhanmondi.
The meeting was held between the senior leaders of AL and Bikalpa Dhara to discuss the alliance issue to contest in the parliamentary polls slated for December 30.
AL General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader and Bikalpa Dhara Secretary General Major (Retd) Mannan attended the meeting, among others.
Mahi said Juktofront and 14-party will hold a meeting regarding formation of the poll alliance very soon.
AL Organizing Secretaries Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury and Anamul Haque Shamim, Cultural Affairs Secretary Ashim Kumar Ukil, Relief Secretary Sujit Roy Nandi, Deputy Office Secretary Biplob Barua and central leader SM Kamal Hossain, among others, were present in the meeting.
