‘BAB working for building world-class standard system in Bangladesh’

DHAKA, Nov 12, 2018 (BSS) – Secretary In-charge of the Industries
Ministry M Abdul Halim today said the Bangladesh Accreditation Board (BAB) is
working sincerely to build a world-class standard system in Bangladesh.

“The Industries Ministry is providing all-out support to the BAB for
increasing its capacity. The accreditation board has already accelerated the
accreditation related activities following the guidelines of the Asia Pacific
Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (APLAC) and the International Laboratory
Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC),” he said.

Abdul Halim was speaking at a meeting with two-member APLAC delegation,
led by Director of the Standards Malaysia Accreditation Shaharul Sadri Bin
Alwi, at the Industries Ministry here.

BAB Director General M Monowarul Islam and Manager of the International
Accreditation New Zealand Geoffrey David Hallam were, among others, present
at the meeting.
