5 human traffickers held at Motijheel

DHAKA, Nov 12, 2018 (BSS) – Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested five
persons on charges of human trafficking from the city’s Motijheel area on
Sunday night.

“We arrested five human traffickers and seized a huge quantity of forged
documents, 48 passports, SIM cards of Malaysia, BMET cards, huge foreign
currencies such as 450 US dollar, 787600 Indonesian Rupees, 95 Malaysian
Ringgit and Indian Rupee from their possessions,” senior police super of RAB
media Md Mizanur Rahman Bhuiyan told BSS.

A squad of RAB-3, on a tip off, conducted the raid on Saimon Air Travels
housed on the fourth floor Karim Chamber at 99 Motijheel around 8.30pm on
Sunday, he also said.

The arrestees are: owner of Saimon Air Travel Md Kuddus Bepari, 55, Md
Rabiul Islam, 31, Md Zakir Hossain, 41, Md Mintu, 39, and Md Ariful Islam,
28.

During the preliminary interrogation, the arrestees confessed their link to
send people abroad with fake documents, RAB official said, adding that all of
them have been sentenced to six months simple imprisonment and fined Taka
50,000 each for forging documents.

Legal action was taken to this end.
