West Indies opt to bat against India in third T20

CHENNAI, India, Nov 11, 2018 (BSS/AFP) – West Indies captain Carlos
Brathwaite won the toss and elected to bat against India in the third and
final Twenty20 International in Chennai on Sunday.

The visitors, who have already lost the three-match series after trailing
0-2, have fielded an unchanged side in their bid for a consolation win.

“The wicket might slow down a bit later on. I think we can defend well as
our slow bowlers would come into play,” Brathwaite said at the toss.

“5-6 million people back in the Caribbean, so they must be going to church
right now and we want them to come back to a Windies win. We have a lot of
pride to play for.”

India, who have rested Jasprit Bumrah, Umesh Yadav and Kuldeep Yadav ahead
of the final game of the series, made two changes in the playing XI.

Allrounder Washington Sundar and leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal come in
place of Bumrah and Kuldeep.

“We would have bowled first here. We are playing with a long batting line-
up. I don’t think wicket is going to change much,” said India skipper Rohit
Sharma.

“For me, it just matters how team performs. We want to finish the home
season with a victory,” Sharma said as his team look ahead to their all-
important tour of Australia later this month.
