Tk 1,880 crore collected at Khulna tax fair
KHULNA, Nov 11, 2018 (BSS) – The income tax zone of Khulna has collected Tk
1,880 crore for fiscal 2017-18.
Commissioner of Tax of Khulna zone Md Zahangir Alam disclosed this today at
a press briefing held at Income Tax building in Boyra area in the city.
“We have set a target to collect Tk 2,500 crore from 3, 00,000 tax payers
in the 2017-18 fiscal, but we have collected Tk 1,880 crore,” he said.
Deputy Commissioner of Tax of Khulna zone who is also member secretary of
tax fair-2018 Hasanur Rahman said one-stop service centre will provide assist
to the tax payers in the fair.
At least 5, 00,000 tax payers are expected to submit returns during the
fair, he said, adding that the rate of income tax earning has been growing
day by day in the wake of bringing simplicity in the tax realisation system
including e-tin registration together with developing cordial relation
between tax officials and taxpayers.
Income Tax Commissioner of Khulna Tax Appeal Zone Prashanta Kumar Roy,
among others, spoke at the press briefing.
