US President arrives at WWI centenary ceremony in Paris
PARIS, Nov 11, 2018 (BSS/AFP) – US President Donald Trump arrived Sunday
at the WWI centenary ceremony on the Champs-Elysees in Paris with his wife
Melania, minutes after topless protesters tried to waylay his motorcade.
Trump, who arrived in the rain separately from other world leaders, took
his place among dozens of world leaders, including German Chancellor Angela
Merkel and Canada’s Justin Trudeau, at the foot of the Arc de Triomphe war
memorial.
Russian leader Vladimir Putin also arrived separately and was one of the
last to take his place on the front row next to French host Emmanuel Macron
at the ceremony.
