Govt develops software for differently abled people: Jabbar

DHAKA, Nov 8, 2018 (BSS) – Posts, Telecommunications and Information
Technology Minister Mustafa Jabbar today said the government is developing
software to eliminate the challenges of differently abled people for
different services through the use of information technology (IT) using
Bangladesh language.

“The software would help the people who have normal visual power but
don’t have the ability to speak and hear,” he added.

The minister was addressing a “workshop on developing software for
differently abled person” as chief guest at Software Technology Park in
city’s Karwan Bazar, said a press release.

Mentioning that over 35 crore people across the globe speak Bangla,
Jabbar said: “Bangla is our mother tongue and we are leading this language
that is why we have to develop software for Bangla speaking people.”

He urged the officials concerned and others to develop software for
differently abled person on the basis of the opinion of people who took part
at the workshop.

ICT Division Secretary Zuena Azia and Project Director of Bangla
Language Enriching through the Use of ICT Zia Uddin, among others, also spoke
on the occasion with Bangladesh Computer Council acting Executive Director
Rezaul Karim in the chair.
