Construction works of four-lane start in Gaibandha town
GAIBANDHA, NOV 08, 2018 (BSS) – Much-awaited construction works of four-lane from deputy commissioner (DC) office to Purbapara of Gaibandha Municipality started today amid much enthusiasm of the town people.
The Roads and Highways Department (RHD) will implement the construction works of 2.50 km four-lane at a cost of TK 1.59 crore as the government will provide the fund, officials said.
Whip of the Jatiya Sangshad and local lawmaker Mahabub Ara Begum Gini formally inaugurated the works through unveiling a plaque at the rail gate of the town today as the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion whip Mahabub Ara Begum said the people here had been waiting for long for the start of the construction works of the four-lane.
After the construction of the four-lane the people would be able to move smoothly avoiding traffic jam, she added.
She also asked the officials and the contractors of the department to complete the work timely.
Deputy Commissioner Sebastin Rema, Mayor of Gaibandha Municipalty Advocate Shah Masud Zahangir Kabir Milon, Executive Engineer of RHD M. Asaduzzzaman, political leaders, local elite and journalists were present on the occasion.
Executive engineer M. Asaduzzaman said the works of the four-lane would be completed by June 2019.
