Ensure safe food to attract tourists: officials

RANGPUR, Nov 8, 2018 (BSS) – Public officials here at a training
programme have stressed ensuring safe and hygienic food for all in the
country aiming to attract tourists and explore the country’s tourism
potential.

They came up with the call at the closing session of a two-day
‘Fundamental Training Course for Street Vendors on Cooking and Serving
Hygienic Food Items- 2018’ that ended at the conference room of Rangpur
Parjatan Motel in the city today.

Bangladesh Tourism Board with support from Rangpur district
administration organised the training programme for street food vendors and
roadside cooks.

Divisional Commissioner Muhammad Joynul Bari inaugurated the training
programme as the chief guest on Wednesday at the opening session with
Director of Bangladesh Tourism Board Muhammad Wahiduzzaman in the chair.

Additional Deputy Inspector General for Rangpur Range of Bangladesh
Police Mazid Ali, Deputy Commissioner Enamul Habib and Deputy Director (Local
Government) for Rangpur Ruhul Amin Mian addressed on the occasion.

The speakers said street food vendors and cooks could earn better by
preparing hygienic and healthy food items and serving those among people in a
clean environment.

They suggested the street food vendors and cooks to become more aware of
the need of tourists and prepare safe food items.

“Healthier and safe food can attract the tourists. So, the cooks and
street food vendors can play an important role in exploring the huge
potential of the country’s tourism sector by preparing hygienic food items
and serve those hygienically,” Joynul Bari said.
