Chirirbandar road crash kills college teacher
RANGPUR, Nov 07, 2018 (BSS) – A college teachers was killed in a road
accident at Currenthat point on the Parbotipur-Dinajpur road under
Chirirbandar upazila in Dinajpur this afternoon, police said.
The deceased was identified as Lecturer of the Department of Physics of
Dinajpur Model College Bhupathi Nath Roy, 36, son of Jogendranath Roy of
village Jhanjhira in Sadar upazila of Dinajpur district.
“The accident occurred when a truck hit a motorcycle carrying two people
there at 3:30 pm killing the teacher on the spot and injuring his companion,”
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chirirbandar Thana Haresul Islam said.
Local people rescued injured motorcyclist Ajit Roy, 30, of village
Amtola Chakmocha in Chirirbandar upazila from the spot and rushed him to
Chirirbandar Upazila Health Complex.
Police held the killer truck though its driver and helper managed to
escape from the scene.
“A case was filed in this connection with Chirirbandar Thana police this
evening,” the OC added.
