Ctg int. standard swimming pool to open in Dec
CHATTOGRAM, Nov 7, 2018 (BSS) – The newly constructed long cherished
international standard swimming pool in Chattogram city would open up to
swimming next month.
Construction works and necessary fixtures and furnishings with eye
catching decorations of the pool have been completed at a cost of TK 11.61
crore, built under the auspices of Chattogram Jila Krira Sangstha(CJKS).
The sports fans are now counting down the day of opening of the first
ever international standard swimming pool across the country with capacity of
over 5,000 spectators.
The swimming pool was finally constructed following the straight
intervention of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
This is the first ever international standard swimming pool (SP)
constructed after emergence of Bangladesh over one acre of land at M A Aziz
outer stadium in the heart of the city.
The construction works of the pool began in March 2017 and it’s now
awaiting opening in next month December, Ali Abbas, Vice President of
Divisional Krira Sangstha told BSS.
Chattogram City Mayor and General Secretary of CJKS AJM Nasir Uddin will
inaugurate the swimming pool in next Month, he added.
“The eight lanes swimming space of the pool has 50 meters length and 22
meters width,” Ali Abbas said.
Chattogram swimming pool is endowed with modern dressing room for the
swimmers, players’ lounge, seating arrangement, water purification plant,
uninterrupted power supply with 250 KV capacity substation and spacious
parking space.
