Zimbabwe reaches 91 for 2 at lunch on day 3 in first Test

SYLHET, Nov 5, 2018 (BSS) – Visiting Zimbabwe reached 91 for the loss of
two wickets in their second innings in the first session extending their lead
to 230 at lunch against host Bangladesh on the third day of the first Test of
the two-match Test series at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Monday.

Spinner Mehedi Hasan Miraz brought the breakthrough that Bangladesh were
looking for early in the morning as he picked up the wicket of overnight
Brian Chari (4) while Taijul Islam, who got a six-wicket haul in the first
innings then dismissed Brendon Taylor for (24) who gave a catch to Imrul
Kayes.

Skipper Hamilton Masakadza with 39 and Sean Williams with 16 are on the
crease as the umpire removed the bails for lunch break.

Brief score: Zimbabwe 1st innings – 282 for all, Williams 82, Moor 63 n.o,
Masakadza 52, Chakabva 28, Taijul 6/108 and Nazmul 2/49.

2nd innings – 91 for 2, Masakadza 39 batting, Taylor 16, Williams 16
batting, Mehidy 1/20 and Taijul 1/24.

Bangladesh 1st innings – 143 for all, Ariful 41 n.o, Mushfiqur 31, Miraz
