Three female residential training centers opened

DHAKA, Nov 4, 2018 (BSS) – The government today inaugurated three female
scholarship-based residential training centers in three districts aimed at
providing training to under privileged, unskilled, poorly educated students
annually.

“Women and Children Affairs Ministry constructed the scholarship-based
female residential training centres at a cost of Taka 52.49 crore,” State
Minister for Women and Children Affairs Meher Afroz Chumki revealed this
while inaugurating the newly constructed training centres through video
conference from her ministry’s conference room here today.

She said through these training centres, the government would train under
privileged, unskilled, poorly educated girls on modern garment, basic
computer, tailoring/embroidery, beautification, pastry and bakery production,
nursing/midwifery trade.

“Around fifty training seekers aged between 18 to 35 would receive four-
month long training on each trade along with allowance and 900 girls would be
trained annually,” Chumki said.

She said her ministry constructed the training centers at Araihazar of
Narayanganj, Sonaimuri of Noakhali and Mothbaria of Pirojpur district.

Chumki said, adding Bangladesh is now on the highway of development and
the government wants to turn Bangladesh into a poverty-free country under the
dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

During the opening ceremony Dr Rustum Ali Farazi, parliament member of
Pirojpur, Secretary of Women and Children Affairs Ministry Nasima Begum,
Additional Secretary Mahmuda Sharmin Benu, Chairman of National Women’s
Association Momtaj Begum Advocate, Executive Director of National Women
Organization Begum Jahanara Parvin, Director General of Women Affairs
Department Kazi Rowshan Akter were present.

Respective local lawmakers and deputy commissioners joined the video
conference.
