3 held with 2kg gold at Shahjalal airport
DHAKA, Nov 4, 2018 (BSS) – Customs intelligence on Saturday arrested three
Dubai bound passengers along with 2.40 kilograms of gold worth about Taka 1.8
crore from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the city.
“We arrested three people, Afratul Azim, Mohammad Riazul Haque and Zafar
Ullah along with 15 gold bars and 202 grams of gold ornaments weighing 2.40
kg from Green Channel area of the airport on Saturday afternoon,” director
general (DG) of customs intelligence Dr Shahidul Islam told BSS today.
The estimated value of the seized is taka 1.8 crore, he said, adding that
the passenger came to Shahjalal airport from Dubai by a flight (PK-586) of
Emirates Airlines on Saturday afternoon.
Police produced the arrestees before the court today in connection with a
case filed with Bimanbandar Police Station.
