Swechhasebok Dal leader convicted for vandalizing London High Commission

DHAKA, Nov 4, 2018 (BSS) – A London court has convicted Nasir Ahmed Shahin,
president of the United Kingdom unit of Swecchasebok Dal, for vandalizing
Bangladesh High Commission office, portrait of Father of the Nation and
stealing valuables.

“London Magistrate Court on October 31 fined him 1,020 pounds, terming his
activities as criminal offense,” Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Press Wing
sources said here today.

The court also observed that by dishonoring the portrait of Father of the
Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the criminals have made blows on
emotional, social and psychological sentiment of the whole nation.

The three-member court on October 16, 2018, initiated the hearing of the
case in the presence of First Secretary & Head of Chancery Swadipta Alam as
witness.

Meanwhile, Hendon Magistrate’s Court has set November 8 as trial date
against UK BNP president MA Malek over the same shocking incident.

On February 7, 2018 BNP leaders and activists carried out the appalling
attacks at the Bangladesh High Commission office in London.
