Taijul takes 6-wicket as Zimbabwe dismiss at 282 in 1st Test

SYLHET, Nov 4, 2018 (BSS)- Left arm spinner Taijul Islam grabbed six-
wickets haul as visiting Zimbabwe dismissed their first innings at 282
against Bangladesh just before the lunch break on the second day of the first
Test of two-match series at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

The Bangladesh bowlers took full control in the first session of the
second day as visitors added only 46 runs with their overnight total of 236
losing the remaining five wickets.

Overnight batsman Peter Moor completed his Test half century making an
unbeaten 63-run off 192-balls laced with six boundaries but he failed to
prevent Zimbabwean’s collapse after Taijul continued his inroad on the second
day.

Another overnight batsman Regis Chakabva added 28 runs before he perished
to Taijul. Taijul then took wickets of Wellington Masakadza, Kyle Jervis and
Tendai Chatara to complete his six wickets haul giving away 108 runs. Apart
from Taijul Islam’s six wicket haul, debutant Nazmul Islam, who took one
wicket on the first day, today captured one more wicket to complete his
spells with 2 for 49 runs.

In reply, Bangladesh started their first innings and scored 2 for no loss.

Liton Das with 1 and Imrul Kayes with 1 at the crease as the umpire
removed the bails for lunch break.
