Speaker seeks people’s continuous support to Sheikh Hasina

RANGPUR, Nov 2, 2018 (BSS)- Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Dr Shirin
Sharmin Chaudhury here today sought continuous support of common people to
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for continuation of the ongoing development
process in the country.

“Sheikh Hasina is working for improving fortune of common people of the
country where massive developments have already taken place substantially
improving socioeconomic conditions of the people,” she said.

The speaker said this while distributing corrugated iron sheets and
cheques among 127 families for reconstruction of damaged houses and
addressing monthly meeting of Pirganj Upazila Parishad at Pirganj upazila
town as the chief guest.

She distributed one bundle of corrugated iron sheets and Taka 3,000 among
each of the 127 families affected by recent hailstorms and tornado in
different unions of Pirganj upazila in the district.

The Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief allocated the iron sheets
and money to assist the affected families for their rehabilitation.

Dr Shirin said the present government is committed to take the country
forward on the highway of development by involving all people with the main
stream of national advancement.

“The government is always beside the poor, helpless and victims of natural
calamities for ensuring their proper rehabilitation to bring them to the
normal life,” she said and urged all to work unitedly for ensuring public
welfare.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is implementing huge public welfare oriented
programmes side by side with providing electricity to every household, health
services to the people’s doorsteps by establishing community clinics at the
grassroot levels.

With a view to implement the dream of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman of building a developed ‘Sonar Bangla’, she urged the
common people to continue the support to Sheikh Hasina again for continuation
of the development.

Later, the speaker distributed schoolbags among meritorious students to
raise their awareness about corruption and visited the Handicrafts and
Cottage Industry Products Marketing Centre being run by the Pirganj upazila
Administration.

With Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Wahida Begum in the chair, Joint
Secretary to the Ministry of Home Affairs Jahangir Alam Bulbul, Pirganj
municipal Mayor SM Tazimul Islam Shamim, Upazila Chairman Noor Mohammad
Mandal, Senior Vice-president of District Awami League Chhayadat Hossain
Bakul, its Cultural Affairs Secretary Saidur Rahman Pintu, District Council
Member Monayem Sarker Manu, Acting President of Upazila Awami League Azizul
Haque attended, among others, the occasion.
