Nation can never reimburse debt to freedom fighters

RANGPUR, Nov 02, 2018 (BSS) – The grateful Bangalee nation can never
reimburse the debt it owes to the freedom fighters and must show due honour
to them to uphold real spirit of the War of Liberation.

“The freedom fighters have given us a country with a flag,” Member of the
Parliament from Dinajpur-6 seat Shibli Sadique said after inaugurating the
four-storey new building of Birampur Upazila Muktijoddha Complex in Birampur
upazila town of Dinajpur today as the chief guest.

The Ministry of Liberation War Affairs constructed the complex at a cost
of Taka 1.44 crore through the Local Government and Engineering Department in
Birampur upazila town.

With Birampur Upazila Nirbahi Officer Tauhidur Rahman in the chair,
Birampur municipal Mayor Liyakat Ali Sarker, ASP Mithun Sarker, Upazila
Engineer Mahmud Zaman and Vice-president of upazila Awami League (AL) Naru
Gopal Kundu addressed the function as special guests.

Leaders of Birampur upazila unit of Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangshad,
government officials, leaders and activists of AL and its associate bodies
and local elite were present.

The speakers thanked the present government led by Prime Minister Sheikh
Hasina for constructing the Upazila Muktijoddha Complex to ensure welfare of
the freedom fighters and their family members of Birampur upazila.

The chief guest thanked Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for ensuring maximum
welfare of the freedom fighters and constructing houses for five distressed
freedom fighters in every upazila across the country.

He urged the freedom fighters to work unitedly with spirit of the War of
Liberation in building a developed ‘Sonar Bangla’ free from hunger, poverty
and discrimination as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh
Mujibur Rahman.
