Technology-based modern education for youths stressed

RANGPUR, Nov 02, 2018 (BSS) – Officials at a discussion have stressed on
providing science and technology-based modern education and skill-enhancement
training to the youths to make them productive workforces for accelerating
development.

They made the observation at the post-rally discussion jointly organised
by the district administration and Department of Youth Development (DYD) in
observance of the National Youth Day-2018 at Town Hall in the city on
Thursday afternoon.

The district administration and DYD chalked out elaborate programmes like
bringing out of colourful rally, distribution of certificates and loans among
the trained male and female youths to mark the day.

The divisional and district level government and NGO officials, teachers,
students, employees, civil society members, professionals and common citizens
participated in the rally that paraded the city streets.

Divisional Commissioner Mohammad Joynul Bari addressed the discussion as
the chief guest with Deputy Director (Local Government) for Rangpur Ruhul
Amin Mian in the chair.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) for Rangpur Range Devdas Bhattacharya and
Deputy Director of DYD Dilgir Alam addressed the discussion as special
guests.

In his welcome speech, Ruhul Amin Mian recalled glorious contribution of
the youths in the language movement, 1969 mass upsurge, War of Liberation and
other democratic movements and

“The youths of the present time will definitely complete the process of
building the ‘Sonar Bangla’ as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in near future,” he said.

Dilgir Alam discussed the achievements in turning the youths into skilled
workforces through massive steps taken by the present government to make them
self-reliant through their own initiatives, entrepreneurships and income-
generation activities.

He put importance on turning the hands of every male and female youth into
skilled workforce by increasing their education, knowledge and expertise on
IT sector, creativity and self confidence to further enhance economic
progress of the nation.

The chief guest urged the youths for availing various facilities and
supports being provided by the present government to become self-reliant to
contribute their own to build a middle income nation by 2021 and developed
Bangladesh by 2041.

Later, he distributed certificates among the youth trainees trained on
various trades and cheques for loans to promote their self-employments and
launching small scale enterprises for income generation activities.
