Steps taken to avoid untoward incidents during JSC, JDC exams: Nahid

DHAKA, Nov 1, 2018 (BSS) – Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid today said all preparations have been taken to avoid any untoward incident, particularly question paper leakage, during the ongoing Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) examinations-2018.

“All preparations have been taken to hold the examinations peacefully. All concerned, including members of law enforcement agencies, are working relentlessly for holding cheating-free examinations,” he said, after visiting the exam centers at Motijheel Government Boys’ High School and Motijheel Government Girls’ High School in the city.

Additional Secretary of the Technical and Madrasa Education Division AKM Jakir Hossain Bhuiyan, Additional Secretary of the Secondary and Higher Education Division Nazmul Haque Khan, Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) Director General Professor Md Shamsul Huda and Dhaka Education Board Chairman Md Ziaul Haque companied the minister during his visit, said an official release.

Nahid said the law enforcement agencies are alert regarding the rumor of question paper leakage. “Stern actions will be taken against those who will be involved in question paper leakage,” he added.

As many as 26,70,333 students are participating in this year’s examinations stating from today. Of them, 12, 23,732 are male and 14, 46,601 are female.

The number of examinees increased by 2,01,513 in the JSC and JDC examinations this year compared to the last year’s. The number of examinees was 24,68,820 in 2017.
