RANGPUR, Nov 01, 2018 (BSS)-Gangachara Upazila Parishad distributed
bicycles among 99 meritorious female students of 10 secondary educational
institutions in all the nine unions of the upazila on Wednesday.
The upazila parisahd under its annual development programme (ADP)
distributed the bicycles at a function arranged on the upazila parishad
office premises.
Deputy Commissioner Enamul Habib distributed the bicycles as the chief
guest with Gangachara Upazila Chairman Asaduzzaman Bablu in the chair.
Gangachara Upazila Nirbahi Officer Taslima Begum, convener of Gangachara
Upazila Awami League Alhaj Ruhul Amin, upazila vice-chairmen Fasiul Alam Dulu
and Nazmin Nahar and Upazila Secondary Education Officer Selina Begum
attended as special guests.
After receiving bicycles, the female students thanked the upazila parisahd
authorities for awarding the bicycles that would help them to go to schools
and return homes easily without transport any cost.
Upazila Parishad Chairman Bablu said the parisahd would continue to assist
the poor and meritorious female students.
The deputy commissioner lauded the initiative of distributing bicycles by
Gangachara Upazila Parisahd and advised the bicycle recipient girls to attend
classes regularly and devote to study for becoming worthy citizens to serve
the nation in future.
